Basement Bash has long since established itself as the place to discover the best up and coming indie bands that can pack a punch and get a crowd moving!
…even before the girls from BB, Chloe and Anna, teamed up with Noel and Mia, the duo responsible for indieBerlin – Berlin’s go-to blog for all things indie – to create indieBerlin Events and put two winning teams together, it was fast on the way to being the place that industry insiders wanting to know what the next best thing to sign was went.
Now they’re in the Auster Club, down below Markthalle 9 – itself a recognised purveyor of the finest of what independent Berlin can offer.
Their first gig was in the tiny IPA bar; then they moved to Marie Antoinette, where if you get bored with the bands you can look out of the window to see that you’re eye level with the waters of the Spree Canal drifting past you; and now they’re in the Auster Club, down below Markthalle 9 – itself a recognised purveyor of the finest of what independent Berlin can offer. (Fun fact: this used to be Privatclub, before Privatclub moved to Skalitzer Strasse, where it has been doing a roaring trade but is now unfortunately also faced with gentrification-driven closure – the same gentrification-driven closure that Auster was recently faced with and has manged to survive).
Coming up on October 25th is the 13th edition of Basement Bash (lucky for some…) and the second go-around they’ve had at the Auster Club. Surviving the above-mentioned gentrification-closure has meant that live music is only permitted until 10am sharp…so if you’re, you know, a yuppie who moved to Kreuzberg recently and fancy catching a show, you can still do that and wake up in time for your high-powered job in the morning.
That sounded bitter. I didn’t mean it to. We’re all grown-ups here, and change is the only thing that is constant in life, so they tell me.
The point of all this is for me to tell you, actually, about the FREE TICKETS we have to give away to three pairs of people for BB #13. Headliner is the Austrian band that’s in everyone’s mouth (that sounded weird), MOLLY:
plus support by the brilliantly swirly Turquoise Suns:
and of course People’s Club as openers!
