This Saturday, the 6th November, Konrad Kinard will be performing his music / art piece War is Family at Galerie Kremers, situated in the old Schultheiss Brewery in Kreuzberg.
Attendance is reduced to 50 to comply with current Covid restrictions.
Konrad Kinard grew up in cold-war Texas and War is Family is, among other things, an attempt to deal with this strange upbringing, and what he sees as the after-effects of a generational cold war mentality that hasn’t quite died out yet.
For the 6th November show Kinard has put together a line-up of impressive musicians including NY drummer Chris Farr (Moka Efti Orchestra), lap steel player Fredrik Kinbom (Alberta Cross, Ned Collette) and cellist Matthias Hejlik.
The concert closes the current exhibition being shown in the Galerie Kremers, HOKUSPOKUS – KÜNSTLERINNEN ALS SCHAMANEN, featuring Joseph Beuys, Adébayo Bolaji, Uwe Bremer among others.
